I refinished the valve covers in 1992 using the same OEM style "wrinkle-finish" black paint. The original valve cover paint chipped off around 40,000 miles. I use all factory parts except for the air filter, which is K&N's drop-in type. I have also repainted the manifold using Eastwood's steel gray Hi Temp brush-on coating.
